Jennifer Charles

The Fashionista

"It's the little personal details and funny things that help you to get to know a person. I live eat and breathe fashion and I love inspirational books – inspirational and business minded. I love being an entrepreneur in the event industry. I love details and getting inspired by vintage clothing, furniture, baubles... the simplest thing can be the catalyst for a design. I love notepads and mechanical pencils – I have millions of them - I just can't stop buying them. I have twenty subscriptions to magazines that are over flowing and taking over my house. For me, I have to feel something and connect to it to be able to create it. It's just who I am and how I work. My favorite place on earth is New York City because of the energy. I love Europe because of the architecture and the history. I love my job as a designer and event professional because at the end of the day I know that I was part of someone's memory and that means something to me."

Jennifer Charles is a trend-setting event designer and co-founder of Something Fabulous. As lead designer and style-maker, Jennifer spends her days defining the latest trends in fashion, lifestyle and events while assisting clients in discovering their signature styles. Jennifer's career journey began at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in NYC where she studied Advertising, Communications and Fashion Design. While in New York she had the opportunity to work at ABC's Good Morning America and NBC's The Today Show where she was bit by the television bug. The bug led her to pursue a second degree in Radio, Television and Film at Wayne State University. Jennifer's degree and experience in television lead her to Miami, Florida where she freelanced in film and television, from J Lo music videos to New Line Cinema Films. In 2002, Jennifer returned to Michigan and discovered the world of event management and design. In 2004, Something Fabulous was born. Jennifer currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia with her husband Tommy and their new baby girl - Winnie.

Kimberly Allen

The Gypsy

“I have a curious mind. I like to think and learn. Being an entrepreneur suits me. I love the dedication it requires, challenge it presents, the feeling of building something from an idea. I'm lucky to share the journey with my sister. I hope to inspire other entrepreneurs especially those working along side family members. I love languages, experiencing different cultures. I studied French, but I speak better Spanish. I love to travel. I definitely need to go somewhere every few months. I recharge on the road. I'm passionate about the environment, living a whole life and practicing patience. I'm a work in progress. I LOVE strong coffee, books, being a "mommy" and a wife. I believe that a good marriage is worth the work. It's one of the most fulfilling things I've ever done. I am blessed by my husband and my family. I can't wait to start my band, I'll be the drummer when I learn to play. (lol..) I love ballroom dancing. I enjoy helping people simplify the event process. No one should ruin a life experience stressing over it. I believe that many problems could be solved over a meal, sharing of experiences and honest listening. I'm learning to listen. I believe we should love one another and that life should be celebrated.”
